Beauty Surrounding the Ranch

Access is easy from BMGR to the trailhead of the 11,328 foot elevated Boulder Mountain Peak located 3 miles north of BMGR, to the famous Hells Backbone Bridge located 10 miles west of BMGR and to the 4,800 foot elevated Escalante River located 12 miles south of BMGR. Boulder Mountain has a 50,000 acre summit making up half of the Aquarius Plateau, it is a small fraction of the Boulder Mountain Swell and it is also a heavily forested area that descends upon the BMGR in route to slick rock grottos, intricate slot canyons and complexly beautiful desert badlands.

While descending 6,000 feet in elevation over a straight line distance of 15 miles you can experience five of the planet's seven 'life zones' and also see the largest biomass on the planet (an Aspen Grove continuously connected by its roots). National Geographic ranked the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area, the last land in the continental US to be documented by the U.S. Geological Survey Department, as the third healthiest ecosystem on Earth. These mountain and desert areas are heavily populated with birds of prey, bear, cougars, deer, elk and many more species of plants and wildlife.

There are approximately 80 lakes on Boulder Mountain, the largest being Blind Lake which stretches over 52 acres. The lakes and streams offer some of the best brook trout fishing in the state, where trophies are often caught. Boulder Mountain, Utah's highest plateau rises 6,000 feet above Capitol Reef and offers breathtaking roof-top views of Southern Utah while allowing you to see as far as 200 miles into Colorado and Arizona.

The ranch is one mile from the Northwest border of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument which consists of 1.9 million acres of sandstone canyons, unique rock formations and cliff terraces. Waterfalls, petro glyphs and pictographs scatter this wonderland that is chaulked full of adventure, wildlife and pristine landscapes. Whether you want to revel in the mountainous beauty of Boulder Mountain or surround yourself with spetacular desert scenery you cannot escape the natural amazement of this world class area.
